NSFAS works differently for TVET colleges vs universities. Here is what TVET students need to know.
TVET college students funded by NSFAS receive a transport allowance (R7.50 per day), meals allowance (R16 per school day), accommodation (if studying away from home), and a R2,900 allowance for incidentals. Unlike university students, TVET students do not receive book allowances but get the incidentals allowance instead. Apply at nsfas.org.za and ensure your college is on the approved NSFAS institutions list.
