The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has confirmed that applications for the 2026 academic year remain open until 31 January 2026. Students at public universities and TVET colleges who qualify based on household income (under R350,000/year) are urged to apply immediately via the myNSFAS portal at nsfas.org.za. Required documents include: certified ID, proof of income (SASSA letter or parents' payslips), proof of registration, and academic records.
